Creative reflection and digital presence - Recap on Split Workshop Week

The Workshop Week in the beautiful city of Split, Croatia, was a vibrant exchange of ideas, creativity, and reflection. It brought together 28 participants from seven partner organizations, from six European countries, all eager to explore how media shape’s professional identity in the arts.

Identity in motion: From forests to feeds

The week started with a collective reflection session, setting the tone for a journey of introspection and connection. Participants revisited their experiences from previous PMP workshops and prepared to dive deeper into the theme of media and identity.

Two central mentoring workshops anchored the week’s exploration. These sessions brought distinct perspectives to the theme.

  • Ivana Papić’s ‘Landscapes Within: Weaving Nature, Art, and Self’ invited participants to engage with nature as a mirror for personal and artistic identity.
  • Ines Borovac’s ‘My Feed Brings All the Curators to My DMs!’ offered a playful yet critical look at digital personas, encouraging artists to rethink how they present themselves online.

Learning by doing: Creative tools and confidence

Throughout the week, participants engaged in thematic workshops that blended creativity with professional development:

  • You and Your Art as a Brand focused on personal branding and artistic values.
  • From Stage Fright to Stage Delight helped build confidence in public speaking.
  • Design Made Easy introduced Canva as a tool for visual storytelling.
  • Crafting Your Creative Voice guided artists in shaping their portfolios and web presence.
  • The Art of Asking explored interviewing and writing techniques.
  • Lost in Statement examined the nuances of artist statements and translation.

These sessions offered hands-on learning and sparked meaningful conversations about how artists communicate their work and values.

Moments of creative exchange

Beyond the workshops, the week was rich with informal moments. Shared meals, evening gatherings, and a lively speed networking event. These interactions fostered a sense of community and opened doors to future collaborations across borders and disciplines.

Shared takeaways: Dialogue, growth and lasting insights

Participating artists described the week as inspiring, well-organized, and personally enriching. The combination of mentoring, thematic workshops, and informal networking created a dynamic environment for learning and exchanging ideas and experiences.

Many noted feeling welcomed and encouraged to contribute and valued the opportunity to reflect on their professional paths. The diversity of approaches and the international mix of attendees added a strong intercultural dimension, allowing for a wide range of artistic perspectives.

Inspiring creative journey of collective learning

The PMP Workshop Week in Split was a meaningful closing chapter for the project workshop weeks.
