Modern personal branding

Kati Koivunen, D.Sc. (Econ. & Bus. adm.), Lapland University of Applied Sciences

In this presentation we delve into the process of how professionals in creative fields can strategically construct a robust personal brand that resonates with their audience. It’s not just about showcasing one’s skills; it’s about curating a cohesive narrative that authentically represents who they are and what they stand for in the dynamic world of creativity and innovation.

Artist in the digital world using social media in their work

Juho Könkkölä, BA (visual arts), origami artist

Social media and conventional media are two major ways for the artist to reach large audiences – potentially much larger than by other means, such as exhibitions. However, using them effectively as an artist is a multifaceted challenge. Könkkölä shares his experience working as an artist in the digital world and shows his insights on using social media as a tool to get the work seen.

Media Readership

Harutyun Tsatryan, Ph.D, Media and communication researcher and fact-checking specialist, INEDNET

We define media readership and its influence on public perception. We explore different media outlets relevant to artists (traditional print media, online publications, blogs, social media, TV). Artists will learn more about developing a strong artist narrative and together we will tailor those messages to specific media platforms. The participants will learn more on how to build relationships with journalists and art critics (importance of networking), or how to identify relevant media opportunities (calls for submissions, art events, awards).
