PMP News 2/2025

Hello dear PMP artists and partners!
In this 2nd issue of PMP News we have stories from the amazing Workshop Week in Barcelona and information about the coming activities in the autumn, hosted by our partner in Croatia. We are also happy to introduce two NAT artists from Finland.
Autumn activities
As we are getting ready to enjoy the summer, it is also time to start thinking about the autumn activities, signing up and applying. Here are links for more information and some reminders:
Theme for the autumn activities is Media and Professional Identity – how to build your professional identity and reflecting on what it really is and how it is shaped. Professional speakers and mentors will guide you to a journey to connect with yourself and your artistic practice – to find your authenticity but also to inspire you to experiment with how you want to present your work.
- Registration by 28.8.2025.
- Obligatory participation if you get to take part in the Split Workshop Week.
Split Workshop Week 13-17.10.2025

Barcelona workshop week
In March a group of NAT artists spent a week in Barcelona learning and experiencing Future Media with experienced mentors. Here are some stories from the week.
- Reflections: Week of future media in motion: Artists, algorithms, and shared realities.
- Artist testimonials: Exploring tech, storytelling and creativity.
- Management Team point of view: From creative chaos to important decisions.
Artist residency in Barcelona
After the Barcelona workshop week, Tianjun Li from Finland and Ivana Tkalčić from Croatia worked for a month in Barcelona. After the month, they continued their work for another 4 weeks online. During the residency they explored and engaged with themes related to humanity, ecosystems, technology, and creative expression.
Read more about their residency here: Artistic presence, regenerative media and AI ecologies.
Podcast
Ivana and Tianjun also recorded a podcast as part of the residency: An in-depth discussion on the shifting role of the artist in a hypermediated and ecologically precarious world. You can listen to it here: Intersections of Art, AI, and Ecology by Ivana Tkalčić & Tianjun Li.
