Forms of Presence: Media Loop
The exhibition traces the reciprocal relationship between media and identity: a continuous feedback loop in which media shape identities while identities, in turn, reshape media.
The show unfolds as a two-part circuit: the first section brings together works that translate processes native to digital culture into physical space, from Natasha Lelenco‘s exploration of identity as repetition and cloning, through Elisa de la Torre‘s paintings born from heat maps of everyday screen contact and Elvira Martos‘s approach to painting at the crossroads of body, memory, and information processing, to Miguel Ripoll‘s dialogue between algorithmic process and manual drawing, and David Feroce‘s new mythology entwining religious references with digital culture, tracing how media shape identity.
The second section reverses the direction, turning to mediated experience to show how those identities feed back into media: Lorena Ruiz Pellicero‘s installation questions apparatuses of vision and the promise of total immersion, Marla Jacarilla explores the liminal condition of a reality pierced by AI-generated images and autobiographical narratives, and Edo García brings that reflection into the domestic space, revealing how the spectacle of violence permeates even the most intimate, everyday settings.
Together, these works reveal media and identity not as separate forces, but as a single, self-generating loop, each one endlessly rewriting the other.

Natasha Lelenco (MD/ES)
Visual Artist
Natasha Lelenco, born 1982 in Moldova, is a visual artist based in Spain. She holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca and a BA in Art History from UNED. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at NordArt (Germany), the Tijuana Triennial (Mexico), and the Irving Museum (USA), as well as at art fairs in Madrid. She has developed projects with institutions such as the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). She is the founder and curator of Casa das Peritas, an artist-run space in rural Galicia focused on contemporary practices and site-specific interventions.

Elisa de la Torre (ES)
Artist and printmaker whose work explores abstract material painting through organic imperfection and mineral‑like surface transformations. She holds a PhD in Fine Arts from the University of Castilla–La Mancha (UCLM) and teaches at UFV Madrid. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Western Ontario (Canada) and UFV, and completed a Master’s in Humanities at UFV, along with a Master’s in Printmaking Techniques, Illustration, and Artistic Minting at the Escuela de Grabado Casa de la Moneda (RCM–UCLM). Her selected exhibitions include Galería The Theredoom, Galería Rafael Pérez Hernando, ArtMadrid 2021, Estampa 2021, and Museo Würth La Rioja.

David Feroce (ES)
Sculptor
David Feroce is an Aragonese artist working in sculpture and installation. His interdisciplinary practice explores space and its emotional charge. He develops both individual and collaborative projects, including involvement in cultural initiatives connected to Aragón. His work has been shown internationally, including exhibitions in Slovakia and within contemporary circuits such as European programs in Barcelona. His production focuses on three-dimensionality and direct experience, positioning his work within a more process-based than media-driven approach to contemporary art.

Elvira Martos (ES)
Visual Artist
Graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Seville, specializing in painting, continued her pictorial studies at the Accademia di Pietro Vannucci in Perugia, Italy. She has developed her artistic career in Rome and Sydney. Martos has worked as an artistic advisor, and as a painter and muralist for the advertising agency Apparition Media. She has participated in exhibitions and creative projects in New Delhi, Berlin, Sydney, Venice, Melbourne, Barcelona, and Cuba.
Martos currently lives and works in Spain. “The Guru of my Guru” marked her tenth solo exhibition, held within the framework of Rome Art Week.

Miguel Ripoll (SP)
Visual Artist
Miguel Ripoll is a conceptual artist and digital pioneer, educated at Goldsmiths (summa cum laude) and UCL. After decades designing algorithmic interfaces for Yale, Princeton, the Mellon Foundation, and as Global Design Strategy Director at Vistaprint, he returned to full-time art in 2023. His pieces were exhibited at the Reina Sofía Museum (Madrid), the Akademie der Künste (Berlin), and the Cervantes Institute, with works now held in permanent collections including the Design Museum in Barcelona. His post-digital work, like “Grand Tour” (2024–25), fuses AI dialogue with hand techniques on large-format paper, exhibited at CVPR (Seattle, Nashville) and Kunstraum Kreuzberg (Berlin).

Lorena Ruiz Pellicero (SP)
Visual Artist
Visual artist exploring the image and its effects on perception through video, photography, and installation, building speculative fictions on how images shape the way we see the world. Her works have been exhibited in solo shows in R.A.R.O On-Site Projects, Museu de la Mediterrània and Onkaf Gallery (New Delhi). She has also participated in residencies such as Piramidón and Fabra i Coats (Barcelona), Lichtenberg Studios (Berlin), Werkstattwoche (Luben) and NY20+ (Chengdu).

Marla Jacarilla (SP)
Visual artist
She develops her work through techniques such as performance, video art, and installation, exploring connections among visual art, new technologies and literature. She has participated in group exhibitions at MACBA, Fundació Tàpies, La Capella, Arts Santa Mònica, La Panera and Centre del Carme. In 2012 she published Mecánica de la desidia, her first work of fiction. She is currently part of the audiovisual research collective 1080, based at the Arts Santa Mònica Centre, and co-programs the non-fiction film cycles at La Escocesa. She also teaches creative writing workshops.

Filmmaker & visual artist
Santiago de Chile, 1984. Visual artist, filmmaker, and photographer. Through his work, he questions themes such as freedom, fear, identity, and capitalism. His practice spans new media, video, and photography, incorporating the exploration and appropriation of internet imagery, as well as the use of text as an exhibition format.
